Lakeview Terrace

In Lakeview Terrace, a well-crafted but eventually predictable suspense thriller helmed by Neil LaBute, he takes that persona about as far it can go. His character is Abel Turner, a three-decade veteran of the LAPD who takes an intense disliking to the interracial couple, Chris and Lisa Mattson (Patrick Wilson and Kerry Washington), that moves in across the street. Lake view Terrace grossed over $15 million and follows a young couple (Patrick Wilson and Kerry Washington) has just moved into their California dream home when they become the target of their next-door neighbour, who disapproves of their interracial relationship.
Neighbor Abel Turner (Samuel L. Jackson) appears to be kind and inviting. As a cop, he considers himself responsible for the safety of his neighborhood by patrolling it every evening in case any trouble should arise.
Although many think that racism ended with desegregation, the fact is that prejudice based on skin color is still alive and thriving today.
The interracial element is crucial because it serves as the core for his hatred, along with a few other peeves (Chris’ dislike of Abel’s security lights, intimate sessions in the backyard pool, etc.). When Abel tells Chris, in so many words, to move out, and Chris, in so many words, tells Abel to go to hell, he snaps, and unleashes a reign of terror on the horrified couple, abusing his power as a police officer in doing so.
Revealing the thought process behind both sides in an unconventional manner, “Lakeview Terrace” proves to be a film worth the audience’s consideration
Like Max Cady in both Cape Fear films, his antagonism is covert and never direct, ranging from petty vandalism to full-out psychological warfare, with Chris and Lisa unleashing their anger out more at each other than Abel.
Regine has an important role in the latest from Samuel L. Jackson, Lakeview Terrace, which premiered this weekend. In that film, Regine plays the daughter of a police officer (Jackson) who terrorizes a mixed race couple who moves into the neighborhood.
